Default Ginger #2

Hey. This morning Ginger peed all over the kitchen floor. she has been peeing a lot on the floor recently. She doesn't tell anybody that she has to go outside, she just pees in the house. Ginger also takes pills to control her old bladder. Ginger is 12 yrs old. My dad & mom think Ginger is peeing on the floor for attention. Katie

Possibly she is but I'd have her have a check up just incase she has a water infection or something.

This is entirely up to you though as no one knows their pets better than their owners.

Best of Luck

I agree. I would have her checked out.
Smokey has a very sensitive bladder and the first sign that she has a bladder infection is that she will pee on the floor.
She has not had one in a while because we have found a food that treats her well and we do not give her treats ... But it could be a possibility ... Maybe she does have an infection. And if this is the case she will need medication to get rid of it.
Best of luck to you ... Please keep us updated!

Katie, maybe the bladder meds are not working well either, sometimes a body human or animal can grow used to taking a specific med and their body doesn't get the full benefits of it.

I definately would have her checked. Her advanced age could mean something is up.

Please keep us posted on how Ginger is doing.

Katie,
With Ginger's age I would definately have her checked out. Perhaps her meds may need adjusting or it could be a sign of something more serious. Not to freak you out or anything but a couple of months ago my mother-in-law had to put down her 7 year old shepherd mix because of liver cancer. One of the first symptoms she noticed was that he was peeing on the floor.

I am glad that works for you!
I would still have her checked by a vet.
It is better safe than sorry ...

I don't think she is lazy I think something is not right, maybe she has a bladder infection or something. I would definately have her checked by her vet. That is something trying to be told to you. Keep us posted.

Hey Katie,
If it's not a bladder infection it could be a kidney infection as she is getting old these things are very common and they can't control their bodily functions as well anymore. The best solution is a visit to your vet and they will take some blood and check for any infections, try not to stress too much as there is always an answer for everything o.k. Heather.
