I have to share this

We took Gidget and Dexter to my friends (who we call each other our sister) house on saturday. They have two big dogs, Sadie who is a german shorthair/black lab mix (who is 3) and Lady who is a rottie/german shepherd (who is 10)

I need to boast on both of my kids. Gidget only snapped at Sadie once, when Sadie's nose wouldn't leave her butt alone. Gidget sat down, thinking that would make her stop, and it didn't and so she snapped at her. Sue (my "sister") told Sadie that is what she gets when Gidget already said no, several times politely.

Dexter did great with the 35 minute ride and the dramamine. He really liked the fact that his ride was not to either the vet or the hair groomers.

They have about 3 acres of land, with an orchard (pears and apples). Man oh mighty did my kids romp. Sadie ran with them for a little bit and then went in the house. Lady is a bit older and was rescued from a very abusive home, came to sniff both of my kids, and Gidget must have known she was older with a little arthritis, becasue she allowed her not only to sniff but walk right next to her.

Gidget also is the type of dog who does not really allow people other than mommy or daddy to hold her. Breaking news here, my husband's dad holds her now and walks around in his garden with her, (she eats it up) and Sue picked her up on saturday night and Gidget not only allowed it but kissed her. Dexter got held by Sue's hubby and hugged him. Her hubby didn't like small dogs before, and we got the biggest kick out of big burly guy holding Dexter walking around with him talking to him about what he did all day. Dexter ate it up!

Sorry I know this is long, but I had to share. This was the first time the four pups had met.

They did, thank you.

I was/am so proud of them being on their best behavior too! they got a big cookie when we got home.

Raven does good things then runs to the treat drawer! She now knows that when she is good she gets rewared for it! LOL And they say dogs don't know anything .. WHATEVER

Me too, thank you. I didn't want to boast, but I thought my two deserve me doting on them just as much as they dote on me.

Mine do the same thing. You said it whoever said that dogs don't know anything are full of hot air and like to hear themselves talk!

that paints a great picture.. big ole guy walking around having a nice chat with Dexter about his day! LOLOL
