Ooh..the anger!

I apologize in advance as this is a bit of a rant and its long!! sorry! but i really needed to get this off my chest!

Something happened this weekend to a friend of mine that just has my blood boiling. She took her little dog (and i mean little- I believe he's a lhasa apso) for a walk down the street in her own neighbourhood and as they were walking along, he stooped to sniff at a plant that had been planted on the strip of grass between the road and the sidewalk (CITY PROPERTY). TO her horror, a man came running out of his house screaming at the top of his lungs at her!!! Accusing her dog of stepping all over his plant and telling her to get off his property and saying things like "YOU PEOPLE are so inconsiderate, get off my property, get yoour dog off my plant etc. you are not allowed here, don't ever walk on my property again" She tried to ignore the yelling and proceeded down the block, but by this time, his wife and come running out of the house and followed her 1/2 way down the block yelling at her? I'm outraged. 1st of all what is the meaning of "YOU PEOPLE" is that directed towards 'dog people' or was that a racially motivated comment but regardless..its a horrid thing to say to anyone? 2nd of all the dog is about a foot high off the ground if even, and the plant was about 2 feet high. How could he have been 'on his plant"? and to follow this poor girl 1/2 way down the block screaming at her and her little dog? I really wonder if the crazy plant owner would have had the same reaction if the person walking the dog was a man and the dog was lets say a larger more intimidating looking one? I can't believe there are people out there like that!!!

Sorry, i hope i haven't put anybody to sleep. I really needed to vent!

It's OK to vent. Sounds like these people need a swift kick in the butt. I don't know if I would've kept walking after they followed me. I probably would be in jail right now.

Who do they think they are? I am sure that she is not the first person that has walked her dog along that block and I am sure that her dog is not the first to stop to smell that plant... Some people ...

I am a little hesistant when walking Raven. She tends to walk on other peoples lawn and I am afraid that the people that live there will get all bent out of shape because she is on their lawn .. Espically if they are not 'Animal People'

Reading these kind of stories always makes me want to get into a similar situation, as odd as that may sound. I'm waiting for someone to start yelling at me, just so I can put them in their place, like with those darn telemarketers. It probably won't help though. They've probably had a bad experience with dogs in their childhood or something.

Ya know this kind of thing really gets me mad. When a person puts a plant or a pice of grass ahead of someones feelings. Heck the size of the dog she was walking would'nt have even pushed the grass down. If I lived close to where the plant people live I would walk all 4 of my dogs by just to see what the jurk had to say. As long as you carry your little poop bag to clean up after your pet there is nothing for anyone to crab about. If it happens again call a cop and report herasment.

OH MY GOSH!!!! I am absolutely fuming over this, it is a good thing it wan't me he started to follow. I would have laid into him like no tomorrow. Your poor friend and her poor pup. I hope they both are ok. As for "that person" he can take it up with those of us that have read this and are steaming right now. he wouldn't stand a chance. What a jerk (and I am being polite)

I'm evil...I not only would have put him in his place but then I probably would have taken both of my dogs for a walk later that night...say oh...3:00a.m. And proceeded to let them "empty their dinners" on his lawn. WITHOUT A POOP BAGGIE!!!

I wonder what they would do if Dar, Erica & myself walked passed with our dogs?

I bet they would think twice about shouting at us.
