Default Enlarged Heart

Does anyone on the forum know of any good articles dealing with canine enlarged hearts? I have a 6-year-old Pom-a-Poo who has been treated with 3 meds a day for the past year. He seems to be doing okay except for the occasional coughing and the wheezing sound when he sleeps. The vet says his prognosis is really unknown. He is overweight and wants to eat everything available, which means we have to really keep an eye on him at feeding time as we also have a Pomeranian and a cat. Any knowledge anyone has of this condition would be appreciated. Thanks.

http://www.nhahonline.com/k9cardiology.htm

I personally have no knowledge of this condition but I did find this web site concerning Canine Cardiology. I hope this information is helpful to you.

Good luck.

Haven't had a chance to read it in detail yet; however, just scanning the article, it would appear that my vet is treating him correctly and that I don't have to panic about it yet anyway. (If silly dog would realize that he doesn't have to eat everything in sight, he might lose some weight and help the situation. We really have to keep an eye on him.)

Again, thanks for the link, Erica.
