Default Multiple pets!

Just was curious how many people have more than one pet (or should I say kids). I have eight + a dozen fish. Two dogs, Five cats, and a bird. I love them all and boy do they all have different personalities. They keep me busy!

Hehe I bet, it must be a day job! About a year ago, I took care of 2 cats, 2 rabbits and a hamster, although only one cat was actually mine. I still see the other pets every day though.

Some day, I'll get a dog, I'm certain about that, just not sure when!

DH and I have seven birds. We don't have any other animals at the moment, though when we eventually re-locate to a larger home, we will definitely adopt a dog, hopefully we will find dog at a local shelter.

Next to birds, dogs are my favourite animals. I just love them.

Sad to say I had 12 - 14 four legged furry friends small, medium and extra large sizes and now have none since I could not bring them to my new place.

Now to resupply the empty house with as many new furry friends as I can hold.

Exclamation Re: Multiple pets!

I have two dogs, one parakeet, one betta fish, and five other tropical fish.

Can I also mention that there is a ferrel cat that always comes to my yard, and I have started putting food out for him/her when he/she comes in the yard. He/she knows I will put food out and he/she waits for me. Same time daily. One of these days he/she will come into my house and have a new home with no reason to go outside anymore.

Beth, please think twice about allowing the feral cat indoors when you have a parakeet.

Even if the cat does not wish to intentionally harm your bird, if he scratches the bird or bites him, the cat's saliva is toxic to birds and it will kill your bird.

As the cat is feral, chances are he will see your parakeet as a tasty meal and go for the bird.

Personally, I would not be feeding the feral cat, either. In our area, we have a problem with feral cats -- there are too many of them. If you feed him, you will only make him stronger so that he can breed several more unwanted feral cats.

Thanks Newman, I never really thought of the cat getting stronger and all. I just didn't want the poor thing to starve.

You are right about the cat and the bird also.

I will definately be a window watcher for the cat now and that is all. I would not want anything to harm Mickey the parakeet and/or Gidget and Dexter for that matter either.

Thank you for the advice.

Beth

I have 4 - 3 cats and 1 dog.
The house can be a little noisy sometimes, the couches sometimes have more fur than fabric and the toys can sometimes be dangerous - depending where they leave them - BUT I would not change it for all of the money in the world!

I love my babies!!
