Alert!! Pet Food Recall!!!

Well John came home from work today and asked what smelled so good. I told him it was the dog food I was cooking in the slow cooker. Then he asked what we were going to have for dinner I said Toco Bell. With the pet food recall I pulled out the slow cooker tonight the dogs had burger and noodles with gravy. LOL
So till the pet food scare is fixed I'll cook for them...

Its a good thing that John asked first ...what if he would have just gone over to the slow cooker and had a wee bit of a taste?? LOL

That's exactly what I'm doing Dar. I returned the Pet's Pride that I had bought.. and in turn bought ground beef, ground turkey, rice, eggs, green beans, carrots and peas. I'll use it to make a doggy meatloafy thing. I had Ramen Noodles.

Well, my son can attest that my dog food was good, only needed salt!!!!!!! I added Swiss Chard (tons of minerals & vitamins), and fresh spinach and lots of garlic to mine. Yum.

I am so nervous about buying treats from Walmart now and that really is one of the few stores that carry treats for my pups. What are they to do now. Carrot sticks and cukes it is I guess.

The thing of it is I have been giving them treats that we bought I am seeing no change in them but watching closely.

Beth, I dont think you have to worry about the treats..are you talking about like biscuits from a box or jerky strips or something? It was only the wet stuff mostly and some other dry dog food in bags i think,,not the "treats". But I can understand your concern..we are all paranoid about feeding our pets anything from stores now..and thats normal!!

Yes I meant like the jerky's for pups. I know it didn't really define them but you are right with me saying I am watching them closely because what if... I know I worry too much, you are right! But these are my babies and I love them and would feel awful if I would do anything to harm them.

Just heard on the news that there is already a class action lawsuit being planned about the dog food recall. And on a personal note..a coworker of mine at the store said her mom's elderly cat died after eating the wet Special Kitty cat food in pouches...her mom said there was nothing wrong with her cat before eating the food, but she didnt put two and two together until she saw the pet food recall on tv....

From all I've been reading.. it seems that the food was much more dangerous for cats.
I could just shoot the #$%#$% that's responsible for this.
