adding any new additions to the family? If so what are you getting (meaning puppy, kitten, rescue dog/cat/other animal?) Have names been picked? When is the new addition coming home?

I just love when new babies get to come home and get the love and attention they need. I am being nosey I know...sorry.

I would LOVE to get another hamster. I am working on it!
I have to go to Petcetera today to get the kitties some food ... I am thinking of taking a look at them then!!!!!!!!! The only thing that gets to me is that they only live for a short time and it is always so hard when you lose them. I have 3 hamsters buried in my parents back yard!

Whenever one would pass I would take a trip to my parents and bury it ... !! But they are SO much fun!!!

I used to have a teddy bear hamster, his name was star because he had a little bit of white markings on his belly (somewhat start shaped) He was an absolute great little guy. I miss him. I have a friend with ferrets, and man I wouldn't mind one of those either. Michael says no way on the ferret. (can you believe his nerve...hee hee)

I would love to get a dog some day, as I wrote in another post.
I haven't got any concrete plans though, mainly because I would also like to travel more in the future and I don't want to leave my dog behind while I'm gone for several weeks. When I was at the animal shelter some time ago, I saw a lot of dogs that were dumped there by owners who were on vacation..it was terrible, I could never do that to my dog.

Maybe I should plan more...set some goals, travel as much as I can for the next 2 years..and get a dog after that

I agree Leon, Raven never gets left behind. If we can't have dogs on our trips, we don't go. I could never leave her at one of those 'Doggy Hotels' or at a boarding kennel. I would feel like the worst Mommy in the world.
WE have plans to go home (Newfoundland) next summer (2007) and guess what?? Raven is going as Well!!

Thank you Leon for thinking these plans through, you are right too many people just dump off their pets (of any kind nowadays) when it is not convenient for them. Now maybe they should be discarded as easily as they do to their pets, that might make them think twice about it.

You have a heart of gold Leon. I hope you have fun traveling, and post some pics that you take on the forum, I would love to see your travels, as I know others would love to see them too!

I am the same way, if my two can not go with me, I do not go. These are my kids, and I too would feel like the worst mommy in the entire world. I worry about my two pups all the time. Thank goodness during the day they are only left alone for 4 hours. They catch up on sleep to start playing when I get home I think. I also have a neighbor who loves my two and asks to come visit them on days and she comes and plays too. It helps me relax to know she is watching out for my kids too!

We are going up north WI in a few weeks, and there will be a heyday of dogs. My brother-in-law ans sister-in-law live up north and they have land, they also own 4 dogs. So guess what the acreage (SP) is totally fenced in and we are taking ours up and we will all be running around in the yard. Of course under supervision.
