A goodbye poem for a friend

I wrote this a few years ago when my beautiful white cat died after being poisoned by my neighbor...I called the police to report this atrocity and was simply told "it's not illegal to kill a cat in Kentucky".

The Dignified Lady
A small ball of fur, weak and cold;
soon became healthy, loud and bold.
She trampled and padded down the hall;
she demanded nothing, wanted it all.
Soon she was poucing everything in sight;
we all ran for cover and hid from her bite.
As she grew she discover oh so very much;
she craved the sun, grass and the human touch.
All flying things soon learned to fear;
the lady was jealous and made that clear.
She loudly complained when things didn't go her way;
when nobody was looking she often would play.
Always smelled like sunshine and of course fresh flowers;
cleaned from head to toe for many hours.
Now she is gone, she was taken too soon;
she still had lots of wings to ruin.
She was taken away by characters quite shady;
I silently watched the passing of my dignified lady.
It's time to let her go to her new plane and say goodbye;
I'll think of her often and smile when I see her dreaded butterfly.

THAT I do not agree with .. AT ALL.
I am sorry for your loss. I can only imagine how hard it must have been for you

The poem was beautiful.

However, if that were my neighbor....I had best stop right there. But I do not think that I am the only one thinking of a number of ways to treat that neighbor.

Not illegal, would they feel that way if they were the intended target of the poison? I don't think so.

I am sorry for you loss.

And as for your neighbor!

I can't really express my opinion right now because it will be censored!!!
To put it as polite as possible. THEIR EVIL!

Thank you so much for sharing that with us.

We have a similar thing here in England. If you run a dog over you have to report it if you run a cat over you don't as they get classed as vermin or that's how it used to be and i've heard nothing different.

To me an animal is an animal and if you do wrong by it you SHOULD pay the price.

Erica, that is why I had to stop where I did....man does that burn me up. How dare they...I better stop again as my smoke detectors may start going off. I really would have been a pain in that neighbors hind end I will tell you that much. And I would not be a friendly neighbor when I did it!

I would make so miserable for the neighbor that he wouldnt want to be in neighborhood anylonger That is such (Bull_ _ _ _) That its not illegal it is pet abuse nomatter where you live what if there child got poisened(SP) it is the same to a pet owner just because they are not of the human speciesOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH that just angers the heck out of me. So I better stop too I agree with everyone here on our forum. By the way your POEM was beautiful I have lost a few animals too it doesn't ever get easy does it so sorry for the loss you endured.
