Middle Kingdom won the Pennsic War (medieval.) Okay, the King of the East conceded the war points before the fighting began, but, if the war points had counted, Middle would have gotten 17 points, East 16.

We are hot, tired, sweaty and sunburned. I don't know if the brown dirt will ever get out from under my nails. I look like I have been shucking black walnuts.

We had a wonderful time even though the weather was unbearably hot during the day and cold enough that we could see our breath during the night. Of course it rained 4 times, sometimes pretty heavy, during the week. However the battles went on.

Pennsic War is held at Cooper's Campground in Slippery Rock, PA and the nearest place to go for supplies is Youngstown, OH. Considering our van was parked in row 23 of the parking lot, on a very, very, very high hill, (did I mention we were parked on a very high hill?) we made do with what we had at camp.

We dressed in our finest garb, ate wonderful food, went to medieval style concerts, sang war songs and ballads around the fire and welcomed friends that we only see at Pennsic.

PS Janet, there is a shoppe there that I call the Pennsic Wal Mart. It is the Pillaged Village, and they offer all kinds of cheap items that fall apart as soon as you walk out of the tent.

LMAO...good one Joy...I wouldn't be surprised if Walmart DIDNT supply the items for that shoppe....YE OLDE WALMARTE"
So glad to hear you had a good time..I have to admit it sounds like fun..and just think if you would have driven to Youngstown, you would have only been about 1/2 away from me (depending on what part of Youngstown). Youngstown is horrible. Lots of crime and horrible traffic there.
I bet you keep in good shape having that kind of fun!!!

Yes, we have been to the Bristol Renn Faire. We enjoyed it very much. There is also one in Harveysburg OH that we try to attend every year with my husband's sister and her kids. Years ago, when our nephew was about six or so, he asked hubby, "Uncle Steve, when I grow up, should I be a policeman or a knight?" This nephew is 18 (!!) and still loves to go to the Renn Faire with us.
