Default My friends' hamster, Fluffy

Hi everyone,

I went to the vet with a friend, her sister and their hamster today. The hamster, Fluffy, has a lump on his back and is already 2 years old. Because of that, we prepared for the worse and thought he had to be put to sleep. When the vet examined him, he noticed that he was still very alive, wasn't overweight or underweight and didn't seem to be in pain or anything. He told us there was no need to be put to sleep! He gave us a salve for the lump..and that was it

I've attached a photo of when he was about 1 years old I think.

SO CUTE! I love hamsters. I have had 3. Teddy, Julie & Cruiser. Teddy lived to be almost 4. He lived the longest of them all! I want more, but my hubby says 3 cats and a dog are enough. I have to agree, but I just love watching a hamster run about its cage!!

He's fine, thanks for asking
He's being treated with the salve to prevent infection.

The cats are glad he's back as well, whenever he makes a noise, they jump on the counter to take a good look at what he's doing

Leon,
So glad you got good news. It has been years since I had hamsters. When I did I had 2 dwarf hamsters. They were alot of fun.

Tell me about it! When I had my hamsters that is all the cats would do. They would sit and watch them for hours on end. I can't imagine what the poor hamster was thinking ..

Awww, see I just LOVE that.
I went to Petcetera 2day to get the 'babies' food and I was determined when I went there that I was getting another hamster! BUT, they were all out of the Teddy Bear hamster .. The kind I like.
I don't know if that is a good or bad thing?? Maybe it is a 'SIGN'

Haha, maybe it is...or.....maybe it's evil marketing by the pet store..they saw you come in and know you a bit because you're a regular visitor..and quickly hid the hamsters so they know you would come visit more frequently looking for hamsters..and buy some of their stuff while you're there anyway!

Or, am I taking this a bit too far?

I have more pictures of the hamster, I'll post some soon
