| Anybody have senior dogs? I have a 15 year old minnie poodle - blew both his Right and Left ACLs (knee ligaments) and broke his neck in 3 spots shaking a toy and falling at the same time. All surgeries with in an 18 month period. He was 13 and turning 14. We went thru surgeries and is all better than ever....only now he diabetic 7 units insulin in the am & 7 units in the pm. also have 18 year old toy poodle. She is doing good - cant see/cant hear/no teeth but she is doing GREAt and eats like a horse. Both are on different diets but they both eat great. wondering if anyone else has senior dogs who are kind of high maintenance but doing great and well worth the extra effort? |

| My dog Thor is 13 but not really high maintenance. He still has all his teeth. He does have athiritis and drags his back leg and I know he is losing his hearing. Thor also has lumps all over his body but other than that he's doing very well. He is a Dalmation/Black LabX.

| My Boston Terrier, Rocky, is ten. He is doing well and runs through the house like he's possessed. He is almost always up for a hike on the people trails in our town or the county parks. In the summer he is always the first one in the pool. He gets deep tissue tumors and his heart doesn't work as well as it used to. His vet watches him closely for both. | My dog Toby is 11 but doing quite well for his age. He acts like he is 2 years old sometimes. His heart condition is great and so far no trouble with arthritus or anything. He does have to take allergy pills for something (we dont know quite what) that irritates his eyes. Our dog Rebel who is about 8, has an arthritic condition is his hips, he takes pills for that. I give both dogs multivitamins and Im planning on ordering some fish oil capsules for them as well.
