| What a great opportunity; hopefully we can all get some tips on pet care. We have a house full, dog, cats, rats, turtle and fish, sometimes others, just depends... we love them all. I am writing today about our rats, we have two wonderful girls who are as friendly as anything.... never bit always happy to see us, and are free roaming most of the time; we have just rescued two babies, so small, about 4 weeks, they are awesome as well... both are girls... we have introduced elders to youngers only once and it went very well, 1 older two younger but I am worried this time, our dominant adult female is very protective and I wonder if anyone has any tips, we have begun exchanging bedding to get them used to the smell etc., and we know to bring them together first in neutral quarters. Our 1.5 year old rats are sisters, and the less dominant was a little ill, the dominant female is very protective, the vet says to wait until they are 6 weeks and start... that is this weekend and I am very nervous. Any suggestions? Thanks great site.... I have to get some pictures!!! Gail |

| Hi Gail, First off, welcome to the pet forum! We are very glad that you could join us! Unfortunatly, I don't have any experience with rats, so I won't be of much help, but I am sure there is someone on here that can help ... Please do post pictures! We LOVE pictures!!!!

| Hi Gail I think it best to listen to your vet. It's a long time since I had mine and then bought them together so were used to each other. Hope you like our little family and maybe we will get to see som pics. Big Hugs & Slobbers
