Hi, From another dog & cat lover in Wisconsin

Brand new to this site and am impressed. We rescue dogs and cats and usually end up keeping them forever. So we have many much loved companions. I belong to Small Paws and currently foster 2 Bichons from puppy mills. That is a new experience. Would like to 'chat' with anyone about the animals in their life or whatever.

Hi there, I too am from WI. We basically rescued ours from a puppy mill of sorts. A Puppy World is where we got our two from.

Gidget has a little napoleon syndrome at times. However as we are learning it isn't always a bad thing...too many people think that they can just go up and pet small dogs, and that is not true.

Dexter we socialized differently. He had a chance to be around kids. Gidget never had that so there is a difference in demeanor in that area.

Thank you for being such a loving hero to all your many loved companions. What is Small Paws? Sounds very interesting.

I would love to be a foster parent for animals but I know I wouldn't be able to give them up. Maybe when I move to the country. Thanks for sharing and thanks for giving all those babies home's. Welcome to the site!

Fostering is very rewardng! I do it. The first cat that I ever fostered was a 14 year old cat that was given up by her family of 13 years because she was "Too Old." Both my husband and I cried when she went to a FOREVER home. I talked to the president of the humane society and told her that I could not foster anymore because it was too hard to see them go. She convinced me to continue to do it? HOW? By telling me to look at it this way .. without me that 14 year old cat would have never had a second chance at life! So now when an animal that I am fostering gets adopted .. I still cry, not because I am sad to see them go, but because I know I gave that animal a second chance!!!!
Isn't that what every animals deserves??

She (the cat) is now almost 16 and is still living a great life ... as you can tell from the picture!!
She even comes by every once in a while to visit me and her fur friends!
