Meela
“This is Meela! Meela is my moms cat. She was adopted just over a week ago from our local Humane Society. She was just over a year old. Before coming to live with my mom Meela was abused by her former family. She was very shy and timid when she was first brought home from the shelter. Because she was abused she was not very trusting of others. Sadly :-( , Meela passed away one week after my mom bringing her home. We are at a loss for words as to what happened to her. We can only hope that she died peacefully.
Being with God, Meela now knows that the hand racing towards her is there to scratch her belly not to abuse her.
R.I.P Meela. You were in our lives for a short time, but the mark that you left on our hearts will last a life time. You will never be forgotten.” - Stacey

"you have my deepest sympathies, my mom just had one of her 14 year old cats die in her arms on mothers day 1:30 in the morning both me and her were up till 8:30 bawling our eyes out, we took him to the U of M here in MN and had a autopsy done on him to find out what killed him, he died of a blood clot to his lungs, we had him cremated and he is once again sitting in his favorite box (we kept it for him) mom still has his 14 year old brother and 3 other female cats, but losing a FAMILY member never gets easier, please tell your mother I'm sorry for her loss, we adopted all of our cats, 2 were from a farmer that was going to kill them, we took them, the other 3 were from a pregnant female somebody threw out in the hallway, sadly we lost her and 2 of her 5 kittens, we don't know what killed them BUT In the short time we had them we spoiled them totally rotten, and the 1's we still have are spoiled rotten lol mom got those cats more toys then I had when I was little if that tells ya anything LOL"

"I THOUGHT YOUR STORY WAS VERY HEART FELT. I'M ALSO A CAT LOVER. I HAVE 4 CATS . MY BABY GIRL SMOKIE CAME TO OUR HOME WHEN SHE WAS 6 WEEKS OLD ,WE WEENED HER OURSELF.THE HOME SHE CAME FROM WAS TERRIBLE WITH FLEES. SHE GOT OUT,AND OF COURSE GOT PREGNANT AND BROUGHT US ME-ME WHICH IS A BEAUTIFUL AFFECTIONATE BLACK KITTIE, THEN WE RESCUED A CALICO,WE NAMED PATCHES WHICH HAS GOTTEN TO BE AS PLUMP AS ALL GET OUT. OUR NEXT RESCUE CAME UP INTO OUR ARMS AND RIGHT INTO OUR HEARTS, HER NAME IS TIGGER,WE CALL HER TIG-TIG.SHE'S A GREY-BROWNISH STRIPE ,SHE'S GOT BEAUTIFUL GREEN EYES AND IS A CHUBBY AND PLAYFUL . YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS,I PRAY THAT THE LORD WILL GIVE YOUR MOM STRENGTH AND I HOPE THAT IF SHE HASN'T FOUND ANOTHER KITTIE THAT SHE FINDS THE ONE THAT JUMPS RIGHT INTO HER ARMS AND INTO HER HEART..
GOD BLESS"

"Stacey - God Bless you and your mother for the love you gave Meela. I am so sorry for your loss. We have 2 cats; 1 a Himy/Persian by the name of Caesar (who we adopted from a local breeder) and the other is a gray tiger/Maine Coon mix whom we named Lexus, after adoption from a local schelter 3 yrs ago. Lexus looks similar to Meela, had also been abused, suffered from malnutrition, and was approx. 2 yrs old when we got her. At her recent annual Vet visit, she now weighs 12 lbs. and is very healthy, happy, gets along well with her pal, has more toys then a kid, loves to snuggle and have her belly and back rubbed and loves to sun herself in our bow window. Caesar, who we raised from a kitten is also very smart and affectionate, and practically from the start, welcomed Lexus into our home. I think humans should take lessons from animals in how to co-habitate.
Stacey - Bless you for your caring and work at the Shelter; my husband tells everyone if I were to volunteer at a Shelter, he would need to build a large addition to our home to house all the animals I would bring home!
May you and your mother have many future blessings!"
