Our Baby Boy
“Hi again everyone. You've met most of my fur babies, and think it was time my feather baby got his moment of fame. This is Baby Boy, he is a Blue-Crowned Conure, anyone who has seen the movie Paulie with Tony Shalhoub will know what kind of bird he is. I always joke he is related to a famous bird. He is now 5 almost 6 years old, his breed can live to be 30 so he's got a good long life ahead of him. He belonged to a lady who was expecting a baby, and since these birds need one-on-one attention she decided it would be better to give him a new home so he came to us. Despite that when he arrived there were 6 cats he has made sure they know who's boss! He has the run of the living room but doesn't mind sharing it with Holly the Chinchilla, maybe because she never makes a sound and he never shuts up so it's perfect! He can sing and dance when he hears something he likes, he currently carries an affinity for Jennifer Saunders and Antonio Banderas and even a little Jennifer Love Hewitt! His favourite treats in order are biscuits, raisins and when he gets it chicken! He loves keeping himself looking pretty and taking birdy baths. He doesn't mind the cats and dog, heck they're scared to death of him when he screams at them to scram! Right now in serious need of a trim and looking forward to his 3rd Christmas with us. He may scream and fuss but he's a beautiful bird and very affectionate when he's in the right mood. You know when he likes his treats because he will tell you by going 'Mmm!' When he feels ignored he will ring the bell in his cage VERY loudly to get attention, smart but not practical when my baby niece sleeps over. He's even a bit of a lady's bird and will blow kisses to get some love back! In the picture he is sitting on my arm before he needed to trim them!
