Welcome to the family Ash - Added: 11/14/2007

Welcome to the family Ash
“Most of you know about the tragic loss of my Buster Baby on June 15th of this year. I thought I would never recover, but I truly believe God sent another of his fur babies to comfort me. This is Ash, I first met him when I let some friends in and he tried to enter with them! Ever since I picked him up that first night and gently reminded him that even though it wasn't his home he was welcome, the same way my late Nanna cared for her neighbour's cat Buddy (after the drink Budweiser) whenever he visited her, he came around our house every day for biscuits and a friendly purr. Then I was told by Mum that she found the young boy who owned him throwing stones at him and I thought that he came to us because he was being abused. I'm happy to say I was wrong about that, because after Buster died he started coming to see me everyday and cried when we had to put him out. Life began to get better after losing Buster thanks to Ash, then one day to my horror his eye started to bleed. We told his owner who took him to the vet, who told her it was either just a build-up of liquid behind his eye or a tumour. We had to wait to see if it was a tumour and that was the worst part for me, waiting to see if my beloved furry friend who helped me so much would be taken from me also. Thankfully with medication he recovered, I'm certain that if it was a tumour it wouldn't have gone down with medicine. But his owner, who knew he spent so much time with me told me that she would have to give him to her sister who lives a long way away because she couldn't afford any more vet bills which broke my heart. But she saw how much I loved Ash and said that if I wanted he could be mine. Mum and Dad said yes and Ash joined our family. He continues to provide great comfort for me as the pain from Buster's passing gradually lessens. He continues to act just like Buster, he has his own blue collar and his own leopard-print pyramid which he loves to snuggle in as it's now almost Winter. He loves snuggling up with me when the central heating is on. He gets on well with the my other fur and feather babies and they have accepted him fully. I'd like to say thank you to everyone for for your prayers when Ash was ill and give you his fondest wishes in return. I'll never forget my Buster Baby, but I believe Ash is truly a gift from God and thank also his first owner for bringing Ash into my life. Welcome to the family Ash :-)” - Cassie Jones
