Merle Great Dane Molly
“This is my Molly. She's a Merle Great Dane, and I LOVE her!! She is the kindest, goofiest, most loving dog I know. She loves everyone that comes to the house, even if she doesn't know them (she's not a great guard dog) she would lick someone to death before harming a fly. Posted by steel.dane on 10/21/2009:"You can't show a merle in AKC because it's not a recognized color in the breed standard. Blue, Black, Fawn, Harlequin, Brindle and Mantle are the only colors you can show.
It's not recognized partially because they don't want people to breed for it. While it is beautiful, if you breed two merles together you run an incredibly high risk of getting white dogs (it's a genetic thing). White danes are usually deaf, blind or both, sometimes with other accompanying health issues.

He is just about the same colors as Molly.
